Bhavana, daughter of journalist Ravi Belagere who has been arrested on charges of hiring a hitman to eliminate another journalist, has termed the charges against her father as baseless.
She told presspersons in Dharwad on Saturday that Mr. Belagere was a responsible father and journalist and the allegations against her father were far from the truth. She said that her father was not a coward to indulge in such an act.
Ms. Bhavana said only a thorough investigation would bring out the truth and she was confident that her father would come clean.
On whether there was any conspiracy hatched against her father, she declined to react and said her advocates had advised her against speaking much on the issue.
