I had no an idea about the CET till I joined college as I had done my school in Qatar. I have also written the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test and Manipal University entrance test. I want to pursue my studies in Kasturba Medical College. But I prefer allocation through the CET.

I owe my success to my teachers, especially biology and chemistry lecturers who guided me very well, and, of course, my parents were always there for my support and encouragement. I have been preparing for CET for two years, attending coaching from 5:30 a.m. to 12 noon.
My father, a senior medical officer in the University of Mysore, and my uncle who is a cardiac surgeon, are my inspiration.

I expected good marks but I never expected to top. I did not concentrate on preparing for CET much as I was preparing for IIT-JEE, which I think helped me have an edge over the others. I solved a lot of question papers and took tutorials at a coaching centre. It is all about time management. I feel IIT-JEE is a lot more competitive so I definitely prefer that.

I’m extremely happy because I put in a lot of hard work. At times, when there was no power supply in my area, I had to study using solar lights and torches. I dedicate my success to my parents and all my teachers. My preparation was very intense. I used to solve around 600 multiple choice questions each day till 1 am. I aspire to take up electronics and communication course in NIT-Suratkal.

It’s such a great feeling and I want to thank my parents. This exam requires a lot of practical work so it was essential to practice drawing extensively. My advice to aspiring toppers is keep practising even if things don’t go right at the beginning. I wish to take up the architecture course in R.V. College of Engineering (RVCE) or Centre for Environmental Planning and Technology (CEPT).

I am on cloud nine. I have been preparing for this exam really well ever since I decided to pursue architecture. I have not attended any coaching classes. My parents have always supported my passion and enrolled me for drawing classes at a young age, which has really helped. Pursue what you want rather than what is imposed on you.
