A total of 19,859 students confirmed to the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) that they have joined the colleges after collecting the admission order by the end of Tuesday, the last day to report to their respective colleges.
According to a press release issued by the KEA, 21,025 students collected their admission order — including 1,331 in medical, 131 in dental, 146 in Indian System of Medicine and Homoeopathy, 19,285 in engineering and 131 for architecture courses. However, only 19,859 candidates confirmed to the KEA that they have joined the colleges after collecting the admission order.
Crucial step now
The press release said students have to go back to the login account on the KEA website and confirm the same by 5 p.m. on Wednesday. “If they fail to do so, their allotted seat will be cancelled even though they might have physically reported to the college,” the release said.
Tuesday was the last day for students to exercise their ‘Choice 1’ for admissions. Students who opted for ‘Choice numbers 2 and 3’ after seat allotment in the admission round are eligible for the casual vacancy round. A KEA official said the fresh dates for this round would be announced on Wednesday.
