The Centre for Vedic and Linguistic Inquiry was launched at the premises of the School of Communication here on Saturday.

Sanskrit and Vedic scholar, Kokkada Ananthapadmanabha Shastri, said that the Vedas were among the first and great poems in the world. Though he had learnt the Vedas in his childhood and as a youth, later working as a teacher, he had forgotten it.

“Let this Centre disseminate knowledge of Vedas,” he said.

K.P. Rao, scholar, software expert, and founder of the Centre, said that the Vedas were scriptures, which were among the first literary documents. The main objective of the centre was to conduct a series of 16 one-hour lecture on various topics related to the Vedas and document them all and upload onto Youtube as a series of 20 minute episodes.
