Samaj Parivartana Samudaya founder-president S.R. Hiremath has demanded that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah entrust to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) the probe into the alleged irregularities in the allocation of iron ore from State-run Mysore Minerals Ltd. (MML) to the company owned by Congress MP D.K. Suresh.
Mr. Suresh is the brother of Congress MLA and former Minister D.K. Shivakumar.
Speaking to presspersons here on Tuesday, Mr. Hiremath alleged that Mr. Shivakumar wrote to then Chief Ministers S.M. Krishna and N. Dharam Singh to allow his brother’s company to lift 10.8 lakh tonne of fine quality iron ore at a throw away price.
He said all documents, including cheques, pertaining to the alleged irregularities were produced before the Supreme Court-appointed Central Empowered Committee.
Mr. Hiremath also sought investigation into the supply of iron ore from MML to domestic industries and transportation of illegally extracted ore by the Railways for JSW Mining Company.
He said that alleged irregularities committed by Ramgadh Mines and Minerals Private Ltd. (RMMPL) should also be inquired into.

He alleged that Mr. Shivakumar got a 4.2-acre plot denotified by filing an application in the name of the landowner, Srinivasan, after his death. A person who had committed such a “serious offence” should not be inducted into the Cabinet, he said, and urged the Congress high command the Mr. Siddaramaiah not to betray the people who voted the Congress to power.
