CBI arrests two in illegal iron ore case

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday arrested Idly Yerriswami and Shyam Singh, a relative of B.S. Anand Singh, former Tourism Minister, in connection with the investigation of the supply of 9 lakh tonnes of illicit iron ore to Dream Logistics, a company owned by Vivek Hebbar, a Congress leader.

Yerriswami and Shyam Singh allegedly extracted iron ore from forest plots and other areas without licences and permits, sources in the CBI said. The two were produced before a magistrate who remanded them in CBI custody till Saturday.
