Basava Kalyan Police have registered a case against Gundu Reddy, Congress leader and president of the Basava Kalyan taluk panchayat, on charges of intimidating and assaulting the head of an education institution.

“Gundu Reddy has threatened to kill us,” said Dhanraj Saibanna Doddamani, president of the Mahatma Bommagondeshwar Education Society that runs the Yella Linga School in Hanumanthwadi village, told presspersons in Bidar on Monday.

“Reddy and his supporters stormed our school last week, destroyed our furniture and vehicles. We have complained to Sudhir Kumar Reddy, Superintendent of Police, and he has helped us register a complaint with the Basava Kalyan Rural Police Station,” he said.

He said the TP president had threatened to close down the school.
