Cardiology conference in Manipal on November 1

The Department of Cardiology, Kasturba Medical College and Hospital, will organise a one-day conference titled ‘Manipal Cardiology Update’ here on November 1. The theme of the conference is ‘Heart failure and Cardiomyopathy’.

A release by the hospital on Thursday said eminent cardiologists and physicians will be delivering lectures on various aspects of heart failure and cardiomyopathy.

The conference will focus on updating the latest developments on the topic of heart failure and cardiomyopathy. Live telecast of coronary and valvular intervention will be performed from the cardiac catheterisation laboratory at Kasturba Hospital to the venue of the conference at the MIT auditorium.

A quiz contest for post graduates in medicine will be conducted in memory of late Arun Kusugal. Sandhya S. Pai, Managing Editor of Kannada weekly ‘Taranga’, will inaugurate the conference at 9 a.m. H.S. Ballal, Pro-Chancellor of Manipal University, will preside over the inaugural.
