Call for including Kabbaliga community in ST list

April 06, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:45 am IST - YADGIR:

Textile Minister Baburao Chinchansur has said that justice would be provided to the Kabbaliga (Koli) community only if the long pending demand for its inclusion in the list of Scheduled Tribes is conceded.

Mr. Chinchansur said that the community was denied of all the benefits due to them and continued to remain neglected and backward due to the non inclusion in the Scheduled Tribes list.

Recalling the long-drawn struggle of the late leader Vittal Herur for the inclusion of the Kabbaliga, Koli, Ambiga, Bestha and Gangamastha communities in the STs list, Mr. Chinchansur said it was needed to convert Mr. Herur’s dream into reality.

Mr. Chinchansur also said that because of Mr. Kharge’s efforts, textile park, railway coach factory and other industries are coming up at the Badiayal and Kadechur industrial areas to provide jobs for unemployed youths. “I will strive for the overall development of Gurmitkal Assembly constituency with the valuable suggestions from Mr. Kharge,” he said.
