Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is expected to expand his Cabinet by filling three vacancies next week.

Sources in the Congress here told The Hindu that Mr. Siddaramaiah discussed the issue with party vice-president Rahul Gandhi and other senior Congress leaders in New Delhi on Wednesday. The party high command has told the Chief Minister to go ahead with the expansion, sources said.

Sources added that Mr. Siddaramaiah would also shuffle portfolios of some Ministers. At present, there are three vacancies in the Council of Ministers created owing to the death of H.S. Mahadeva Prasad and resignation of H.Y. Meti and G. Parameshwara.
