Cabinet defers decision on KPSC final list

The State Cabinet on Wednesday deferred its decision on the final list announced by the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) on March 21 for the 362 posts of gazetted probationer, Group A and B, belonging to the 2011 batch.

A Cabinet meeting presided by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had discussed the list submitted to the government by the KPSC. But the Chief Minister had decided take the matter for a detailed discussion in the next Cabinet meeting, a senior Minister told The Hindu . The Karnataka Administrative Tribunal (KAT) on July 2 vacated the stay on the final list announced by the KPSC.

Upgraded

The Cabinet decided to upgrade 10 urban local bodies (ULBs). It decided to upgrade six town panchayats (TPs) to town municipal councils (TMCs) and four TMCs to city municipal councils (CMCs).

The six TPs to be upgraded are Pandavapura, Afzalpur, Chincholi, Jewargi, Ankola and Hungund. The four TMCs to be upgraded are Challakere, Arasikere, Surpur and Shahpur, another Minister said. In the last Cabinet meeting too a decision was taken to upgrade 10 ULBs.
