The State Cabinet on Tuesday cleared the Forest Department’s proposal on pulpwood planting involving an expenditure of Rs. 73.83 crore during 2014-2020.

Sources told The Hindu that the Forest Development Industries Corporation would take up planting across the State.

A Cabinet meeting presided over by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah cleared a bio-centre project at Rangasamudra in T. Narasipur taluk in Mysore district. The estimated cost of the project was Rs. 5.97 crore. The Cabinet has given administrative approval for a Morarji Desai Residential School at Pemmanahalli in Magadi taluk of Ramangaram district.


The Cabinet has reportedly discussed the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) report on the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) recruitment scam. However, no decision was taken. The sources said that the Cabinet has urged the Chief Minister to take a decision on the report.
