Businessman loses Rs. 7 lakh to trickster

An unidentified man diverted the attention of a businessman and took away Rs. 7 lakh near HOPCOMS outlet on the Bengaluru-Mysuru highway in Maddur on Friday.

According to the police, the incident occurred at 3 p.m. The businessman, V.M. Suresh from Valagerahali, had withdrawn money from three banks on Friday. When Mr. Suresh was sitting on his motorcycle waiting for a friend, an unidentified man approached him and told that a few currency notes had fallen on the road.

Mr. Suresh got down from his motorcycle and started picking up a few notes of Rs. 10 lying on the road. Within seconds, the trickster escaped with a cover that contained Rs. 7 lakh from the motorcycle, an officer at the Maddur Town police station said. Police have formed a team to trace the accused.
