Ten bodies of Air India Express crash were identified in DNA tests and reports are awaited for the remaining 12 unclaimed ones, a police official said Wednesday.
“We have received DNA report today identifying 10 bodies. The message of identification has been sent to relatives,” Mangalore City Police Commissioner Seemant Kumar Singh told reporters here.
Reports on 12 bodies were awaited, he said. Valuables including jewellery recovered from the crash site belonging to passengers were with police and relatives could claim them, he said.
The flight from Dubai to Mangalore crashed while landing at Bajpe airport on May 22 killing 158 persons.
Twenty-two bodies had remained unidentified and swabs were sent for DNA tests.
