To encourage people to donate blood, the Mandya district administration conducted a blood donation camp at Gandhi Bhavan here on Friday.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Shankarappa, who inaugurated the camp organised to mark World Blood Donor Day, underlined the need for more voluntary blood donors to help patients during emergency situations. “Timely availability of blood for patients during an emergency will save the lives of patients. People should develop the habit of donating blood,” he said.

Mr. Shankarappa felicitated Chandagiri Koppalu Swamy Gowda for donating blood 48 times.
