The busy Tumakuru-Nelamangala highway witnessed a huge traffic jam owing to BJP's 'Parivarthana Yatra' that is set to be launched on Thursday from Bengaluru.

Thousands of vehicles were stranded on Tumakuru Road due to the BJP’s “Parivarthana Yatra” scheduled to begin from BIEC at Madavara on Thursday.

Ironically, BJP’s national president Amit Shah also experienced the affects of the traffic jam first-hand. He waited for over an hour at the HAL Airport for the convoy to ferry him to the venue. However, the convoy was stuck in the traffic jam. Eventually, Mr. Shah had to take a helicopter to reach the venue to flag off the bike rally that was organised as part of the programme.

Over three lakh bikers are expected to take part in the rally. A huge group of bikers from Mysuru were led by MP Pratap Simha, while another rally is being led by C.P. Yogeshwar from Channapatna.

Two ambulances were stuck for over half an hour in the jam, even as the city traffic police were struggling hard to manage the traffic on the busy Tumakuru-Nelamangala highway.
