State president of the Bharatiya Janata Party Pralhad Joshi said here on Friday that the first national list of party candidates for the Lok Sabha polls would be announced by the BJP national president on January 20.

He was addressing presspersons here. “Winnability and commitment to the party” would be the main criteria for considering the candidature of the aspirants, he said.

The party core committee members were meeting in Bangalore on January 9 and 10 to discuss the names and finalise them, he said.

Mr. Joshi, however, refused to be drawn into a debate over the names of prominent probable candidates.

The BJP workers would go on a door-to-door visit in the State from January 15 till the month-end to apprise the people of the Congress “misrule” both at the Centre and the State, highlighting the corruption under the UPA-led Congress government, Mr. Joshi said.
