BJP Yuva Morcha members staged a protest seek minister’s resignation at Hubballi on Friday.

Seeking the resignation of Bengaluru Development Minister K.J. George in connection with the suicide of Deputy Superintendent of Police M.K. Ganapathy, members of BJP Yuva Morcha staged a demonstration here on Friday.

In the agitation held under the aegis of Hubballi-Dharwad East Assembly Constituency of BJP Yuva Morcha at Durgad Bail, the protestors raised slogans against the Congress government in the state and alleged that it was protecting the corrupt minister instead of taking action against him.

Led by Dharwad MP and former BJP State President Pralhad Joshi, district Yuva Morcha general secretary Jagadish Bullanavar and other BJP office bearers, the protestors alleged that the government was offering “Suicide Bhagya” to honest officials. They also raised slogans against Mr. George, Home Minister Parameshwara and Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and burnt an effigy of the state government.

Mr. Joshi said the party would urge Governor Vajubhai Vala to intervene, get details of the case from Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and send a report to the Centre on the developments. He alleged that the state government was trying to adjourn the legislature session sine die , as it was unable to face the opposition in the aftermath of the Dy.SP Ganapathy case. He also charged that the state leaders were “shamelessly defending” the Minister, while the central leaders of the party were mum on the issue.
