The Bharatiya Janata Party, which has launched elaborate preparations for the Lok Sabha elections, is also set to train its leaders on effectively utilising the potential of media to reach out to the people.
The party has chosen around 60 leaders in the State for regular interaction with the media and participation on TV channels’ discussion programmes during the run-up to the Lok Sabha polls. An orientation programme by experts is being organised by the party in Bangalore on Tuesday for these leaders on media relations.
At the orientation, the party will not only train them on facing the media, but also provide literature on the alleged failures of the UPA government along with statistics, for their use at media interactions. BJP national spokesperson Meenakshi Lekhi is inaugurating the media orientation session.
According to State media in-charge S. Prakash, the BJP will also train its cadre on using the social media. The party wants to set up media cells in all the districts ahead of the polls, he said.
