A group of BJP activists disrupted the shooting of a Kannada film near the Lalitha Mahal Palace Hotel on the foothills of Chamundi here on Thursday. Ramya and Diganth are the lead actors in the film.

When the protesters, led by BJP councillor Parthasarathy, rushed to the spot and raised slogans against the crew for holding the shooting in spite of the nationwide bandh called by the NDA and other parties, Ms. Ramya reportedly left the place.

However, she returned to the spot after sometime and went inside a vanity van. When the protesters demanded that the shooting be stopped, the actor came out of the van and tried to persuade them.

Ms. Ramya said, “The crew had no instruction from the film industry against holding the shoot.” Unconvinced, the protesters demanded that the shooting be suspended for the day. Miffed over their demand, the actor asked: “Who will feed the film crew if the shooting is cancelled.” Some protesters accused Ms. Ramya of not supporting the bandh as she was a member of the Congress. The shooting was suspended after the police arrived at the spot and escorted Ms. Ramya away.
