Bharatiya Janata Party State unit president Pralhad Joshi has said that his party is a true democratic organisation that can elevate even a “tea seller” to the highest political post in the country.
“Is it possible in the Congress, which promotes dynastic rule?,” he asked while addressing a public meeting at Uppinbetageri village near here on Saturday.
Mr. Joshi said only in the BJP it was possible for an ordinary member to emerge as a national leader and aspire to attain the highest political post. In the Congress, the top posts were reserved for the Nehru-Gandhi family, he said.
Congress leaders attacking the BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi would in turn boomerang on their party and help strengthen BJP’s position, Mr. Joshi said.
The BJP lost the power in the State because a splinter group left the party to form the Karnataka Janata Paksha (KJP). The KJP’s merger with the BJP had enhanced the party’s prospects in the general elections. “The BJP will win the maximum number of seats this time,” he added.
