A two-wheeler rally was staged in the town on Saturday, condemning the reported move to transfer Deputy Commissioner D.K. Ravi.

The bike rally started at Gandhi Park and passed through the main thoroughfares in the town. The protesters raised slogans against the reported attempt to transfer Mr. Ravi by some persons due to the measures taken by him to evict encroachments on government land and tank beds.

A committee comprising various political parties and organisations conducted a mass dharna on Monday in support of Mr. Ravi.
