A Bengaluru-based businessman and his driver were killed on the spot when their Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) rammed into a roadside tree near Ramasamudra Village in Yadgir taluk in the early hours of Sunday.
Police identified the victims as Manjunath (30) and driver Rajesh (28). Manjunath supplied materials to cement factories in the industrial township of Wadi in Chitapur taluk of Kalaburagi. Manjunath and his driver were on their way to Wadi to supply the materials being brought in another vehicle when the accident occurred.
The vehicle following their car, carrying the material, identified the victims and informed police. A case has been registered in Yadgir Rural Police Station.
