Belawadi Mallamma Utsav concludes

The two-day Veer Rani Belwadi Mallamma Utsav concluded on a damp note on Sunday night owing to the unseasonal downpour after it got off to a colourful start at Belwadi in Bailhongal taluk on Saturday.

The stage was leaking from several places. Also, the valedictory event did not start till 8 p.m. Vishwanath Patil, MLA, and Deputy Commissioner N. Jayaram, were the only guests present.

Earlier, the celebrations began with a ceremonial welcome to the ‘Veer Rani Belwadi Mallamma Jyoti’ procession by Vishwanath Patil, MLA, Mahantesh Koujalgi, MLC, Belagavi Zilla Panchayat president Mahadevi Rotti, Mr. Jayaram, Assistant Commissioner Vijaykumar Honakeri and Superintendent of Police B.R. Ravikanthe Gowda.

This was followed by a enchanting ‘Janapada Kala Vahini’ wherein various cultural troupes.

Later, Small Scale Industries Minister and district in-charge Satish L. Jarkiholi inaugurated a consumer products exhibition.

Mr. Jarkiholi also inaugurated a seminar for women elected representatives.
