The Belagavi Zilla Panchayat, on Friday adopted a unanimous resolution to make a vehement plea to the State government to establish a bench of the Karnataka Administrative Tribunal in the city.

Adopting the resolution, ZP president Mahadevi H. Roti and all the members cutting across party affiliations expressed solidarity with members of the Belagavi Bar Association (BBA), who are agitating for establishment of the KAT bench in the city for long.

Earlier, speaking on poor condition of several government school buildings in the district, the members expressed their ire for neglecting the repairs. The members also pointed out that patients in rural areas were facing difficulties in getting timely healthcare services, many doctors were either irregular to the Primary Health Centres or the posts were not filled.

Agitation

Meanwhile, the indefinite dharna of the advocates entered fifth day on Friday. The advocates decided to continue to intensify their struggle if the government continued to turn a blind eye and deaf ear to their genuine demands.
