Belagavi Smart City: BSCL incorporated

Finally, the Belagavi Smart City Limited has come into existence, which would now pave the way for commencing various development, improvement and beautification works under the Belagavi Smart City Project.

Confirming that the BSCL was incorporated on May 11, 2016, Belagavi City Corporation Commissioner G. Prabhu said the company has been classified as a non-government company and is registered with the Registrar of Companies, Bengaluru. The company has been established with an authorised share capital of Rs.500 crore and paid-up capital of Rs.200 crore.

The Directors of BSCL are Ponnuraj Veluswamy, Managing Director of Karnataka Urban Infrastructure Development Finance Corporation, Bengaluru; Khushboo Goel Chowdhary, Managing Director of Hubballi Electricity Supply Company, Hubballi; Ponniah Manivannan, Managing Director, Karnataka Urban Water Supply & Drainage Board, Bengaluru; Thichempully Krishnadas Anil Kumar, Secretary, Department of Urban Development, Bengaluru; G. Prabhu, Belagavi City Corporation Commissioner; Sarita Viraj Patil, Mayor of Belagavi City Corporation; and Manjula Narayanappanaik, Director, Directorate of Municipal Administration.

The BSCL has been provided Corporate Identification Number (CIN) U74999KA2016PLC093099 and Registration Number 93099.

Mr. Prabhu said the BSCL, essentially a Special Purpose Vehicle, will overlook implementation of the entire Smart City Project. Now that the company has been registered, the process of implementation would commence soon, he added.
