The bandh called by various organisations in protest of transfer of Deputy Commissioner D.K. Ravi evoked good response in Kolar on Thursday.

Shops, educational institutions, hotels and banks as well as government offices remained closed. KSRTC and private buses did not ply.

Protesters staged a road blockade agitation on NH75 and a number of places in the town. They demanded that transfer order be cancelled and continue Mr. Ravi as D.C. in the district for at least two more years.
