Dharwad MP Pralhad Joshi has demanded the resignation of Minister for Urban Development Roshan Baig in the wake of notice from Enforcement Directorate for alleged FEMA violations.

Speaking to presspersons here on Tuesday, Mr. Joshi said that the Enforcement Directorate had issued notices to Mr. Baig and family members as it had found serious violations of FEMA (Foreign Exchange Management Act) in the transactions of the company owned by Mr. Baig’s family.

'Very serious offence'

“Since it is a very serious offence, Mr. Baig should immediately resign from his post and if not, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah should sack him,” he said. To a query, Mr. Joshi said that the BJP State Core Committee meeting would be held on January 18 and a decision on the next course of action in Mr. Baig’s case would be taken.
