Members of the Dharwad District Auto Rickshaw Drivers’ Union will participate in the all-India transport bandh on April 30 in protest against the Road Transport Safety Bill-2014.
In a press release issued here on Monday, president of the union B.A. Mudhol said the union would take out a protest march against the State government’s decision to ban services of two-stroke autorickshaws.
The union held a meeting on Sunday in which office-bearers condemned the decision.
They alleged that the government had taken the decision at the behest of auto companies. They even sought to know whether the Transport Minister would dare to impose a similar ban on cars, lorries and buses that polluted the environment.
