Assistant professor arrested for wife’s murder

An assistant professor at the Mandya Institute of Medical Sciences was arrested on Tuesday on the charge of killing his wife at Kallahalli, off Bangalore-Mysore Highway, in Mandya district on May 18.

Raghavendra was arrested at a bus-stand in T. Narsipur in Mysore district. He is accused of killing his wife D. Tejaswini (26). Dr. Raghavendra was produced in a local court which remanded him in judicial custody for two weeks.

His parents and relatives, who are also accused in the case, are still at large, Borase Bhushan Gulabrao, Mandya Superintendent of Police, told The Hindu .

Tejaswini was found dead with injuries on her neck. Her father, Devaraju, and relatives have alleged that Dr. Raghavendra and five of his family members killed Tejaswini.
