Assembly has not been sold to anybody: Speaker

Making it clear to Karnataka Makkala Paksha member Ashok Kheny — who is also the managing director of Nandi Infrastructure Corridor Enterprises, which is executing the BMIC — that he cannot use the Assembly for clarifying allegations against his company, Speaker Kagodu Thimmappa on Wednesday said: “This House has not been sold to anybody. Do not come here with selfish issues. It (the subject of debate) is a public issue and you can speak only as a people’s representative.”

This was when other members charged BMIC project promoters with violating the Frame Work Agreement. Terming their allegations “false”, Mr. Kheny insisted that he should be allowed to clarify.
