The First Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate court has extended the custody of Nayeen Siddiqui, one of the terror suspect, till October 1.

Dr. Siddiqui was taken into custody by the CCB sleuths on September 1 from the Cantonment Railway Station after he arrived from Delhi. According to the police, Dr. Siddiqui was arrested following information provided by the other accused stating that he had provided logistic support to the arrested suspects.

Father of Dr. Siddiqui, who had come to the court, was finally allowed to meet his son, for a few seconds in the parking basement of the ACMM court.

The custody of the other 13 accused earlier was extended till September 27. City Police Commissioner B.G. Jyothi Prakash Mirji said that the extension was necessary to corroborate the information provided by the suspects. Besides that the investigating agency needed more time with the accused to further clarify on statements and confessions that they have provided to the police.
