Arrangements have been made for the counting of votes polled in the Assembly segments of Mandya and Ramanagaram districts.

A total of 84 candidates in the seven Assembly segments (Mandya, Malavalli, Maddur, Melkote, Srirangapatna, K.R. Pet and Nagamangala) of Mandya district and 49 candidates in four segments (Magadi, Kanakapura, Ramanagaram and Channapatna) of Ramanagaram district were testing their future.

Whilst the counting would be taken up for Mandya districts segments at the Government College for Boys (Autonomous) – which got the status of Unitary University – in Mandya, the counting for Ramanagaram district segments will be held at the Government Engineering College in Ramanagaram. It will commence at 8 a.m., said Mandya Deputy Commissioner N. Manjushri.

Agents of political parties carrying mobile phones, cameras and other gadgets have been barred from entering. Elaborate security measures are in place, G. Radhika, Superintendent of Police, Mandya, said.

Meanwhile, furniture, tables and other facilities have been put up at both places, apart from the premises being barricaded on Monday.
