The Headquarters' Recruiting Zone, Bangalore, will hold an open recruitment rally for Army job aspirants at Chamundi Vihar Stadium here from May 2 to 8.

Candidates from Mysore, Mandya, Chamarajanagar, Bangalore Urban, Bangalore Rural, Kolar, Tumkur, Ramanagaram, Chickballapur, Gadag, Haveri and Bagalkot districts can participate in the rally.

Director of the zone, Col. J.S. Virk, told mediapersons here on Monday that there would be tests in categories such as soldier (general duty), soldier (technical), soldier (clerk/store keeper technical), soldier (nursing assistant), soldier (general duty/animal and store handler), store handler (general duty) and soldier (tradesmen). Col. Virk said applications were not required for the posts of soldier. But, for the posts of havildar education, the recruitment would be only through application and it would be held on May 7.

He said the candidates must bring their civil education documents in original because they had noticed earlier that the documents of some candidates were fake. Two attested photocopies of each of the documents must also be submitted.

Deputy Commissioner P.S. Vastrad said he would depute officers from the Revenue Department to assist the Army officials in certifying the caste documents of the candidates (which will be in Kannada) when Col. Virk said the documents were required to be in English.

Col. Virk said about 3,000 candidates were expected to attend the rally.

For more details and information, candidates may call 080-25006569 or IVRS no. 080-25599290.

Re-enrolment of ex-servicemen into Defence Security Corps as soldier general duty will be held on May 7. Earlier, the Deputy Commissioner and Col. Virk released posters of the recruitment rally.
