‘Appoint persons with integrity as Lokayukta’

May 04, 2016 06:09 pm | Updated 06:09 pm IST - Hubballi

Welcoming the Governor’s rejection of Justice S.R. Nayak as Karnataka Lokayukta, founder-president of Samaj Parivartana Samudaya S.R. Hiremath said it was time for Chief Minister to strengthen the institution by nominating and appointing persons of integrity like Justice Vikramjit Sen to the post.

Addressing presspersons here on Wednesday, Mr. Hiremath alleged that despite being in the know of allegations against Mr. Nayak, along with documentary evidence, Mr. Siddaramaiah had recommended him for the post. Demanding that the Anti Corruption Bureau be scrapped, he said it was time for the Congress high command to remove Mr. Siddaramaiah from the Chief Minister’s post.
