Appeals to officials in Yadgir go in vain

July 05, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 05:44 am IST - YADGIR:

The civic authorities have failed to precautionary measures to prevent rainwater flooding in low-lying areas in Yadgir. A few houses in Lakshmi Nagar area on Balaji Temple Road do not have an approach road to their houses and appeals to officials of the CMC have gone in vain. “We telephoned several times but no officer from the CMC has come to attend to the grievance. Nor, have the officials taken steps to clear the stagnant water,” Basavaraj Patil, a resident of Lakshmi Nagar, said.

CMC Commissioner Ramesh Kumar Naik told The Hindu that he would visit the spot and take action.
