Appeal against illegal stone quarrying

December 22, 2014 01:53 pm | Updated 01:53 pm IST - Kolar:

Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha (KRRS) functionaries have appealed the district authorities to take stringent measures to stop illegal stone quarrying in Mulbagal taluk.

The functionaries staged dharna in front of the tahsildar’s office here recently and submitted a memorandum in support of their demand.

The organisation charged some officials of conniving with the quarry mafia which is illegally transporting stone to different towns and cities.

The officers conniving with the mafia should be punished and stringent measures should be taken to protect the natural resource, KRRS district convener, K. Srinivasa Gowda said.
