Another farmer commits suicide

Dejected over delayed rains and rising debts, a farmer from Madargaon village in Humbabad taluk committed suicide on Monday.

Ishwar Manikappa , 45, had taken loans of Rs. four lakh from cooperative banks, and private money lenders. He suffered crop loss on his six acres of land. His body has been sent for post mortem, police said.

This is the fifth farmer’s suicide reported in the district in two months.
