A.H. Rajasab has taken charge as the Vice-Chancellor of Tumkur University on Friday evening.
Prior to his appointment as the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Rajasab was the Dean, Faculty of Science and Technology, Gulbarga University, and Chairperson of the Department of Botany in Gulbarga University.
He has postgraduate degree in Botany and Ph.D. from the University of Mysore.
He has 33 years of teaching experience, 37 years of research experience, and has been a guide for 15 Ph.D. and 20 M.Phil. students.
Soon after assuming office of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Rajasab told presspersons here on Friday that it is only with dedicated teaching and non-teaching staff, and with students who have a zeal to learn, that a university can be developed into a good one. The nine-year-old Tumkur University needs a big campus for which at least 350 acres of land is required.
Prof. Rajasab promised to work in an impartial and transparent manner so as to take the university to greater heights.
The post of the Vice-Chancellor in Tumkur University was vacant after S.C. Sharma completed his term as the Vice-Chancellor on May 3, 2013.
