Those willing to adopt animals at Mysore zoo now need not visit the zoo to make an adoption.
Such people can now transfer the adoption fee to the zoo's bank account through Electronic Clearing Service (ECS) facility from any part of the country.
The zoo recently posted details of its bank account and the IFSC code of the bank on its website www.mysorezoo.info (The amount should be transferred to Member Secretary, Zoo Authority of Karnataka, IFSC code: SYN B0001720, bank account number: 1720-214-0000028).
Following this announcement, two women from Pune, Maharashtra, adopted the animals by transferring the adoption fee through ECS.
Zoo Executive Director B.P. Ravi said Sharadha Krishnamurthy adopted an Indian cobra for one year by paying Rs. 2,000 and Sudha Krishnamurthy adopted a lion-tailed macaque for one year by paying Rs. 10,000.
“It is important to mention here that both individuals who have adopted animals are from Maharashtra. Persons who had visited the zoo and adopted animals, but cannot visit each time in person, can continue to do so by availing themselves of the new facility,” he said in a press release here.
