Veteran actor Ananth Nag escaped unhurt after the multi-utility vehicle (MUV), in which he was travelling, met with a road accident on Bengaluru-Mysuru highway near Kanminiki, near Kumbalgod on the outskirts of Bengaluru, on Thursday afternoon.

Mr. Nag was returning to Bengaluru after attending the shooting of Darshan Thoogudeep-starring movie ‘Airavatha’ in Mysuru.

Eyewitnesses reportedly told the Bidadi police that the speeding MUV hit a cab from behind, rammed into the median and veered off the highway before coming to a halt.

While the driver of the MUV suffered fractures in his limbs, Mr. Nag escaped unhurt. The driver was rushed to the nearby hospital for treatment, the police said.

The MUV was damaged in the accident.

Traffic on the Bengaluru-Mysuru highway was disrupted for a while, soon after the accident took place.
