L. Siddanagouda, a Congress leader close to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, took charge as the chairman of the Hosapete Urban Development Authority here on Monday.
He told presspersons that he would try to do his best towards a systematic development of the city, which is adjacent to Hampi.
Violations
About unauthorised layouts and multi-storeyed buildings that have come up in violation of building bylaws, Mr. Siddanagouda said that he, in consultation with the authority commissioner and president and commissioner of the City Municipal Council, would initiate action within the legal frame work.
Earlier, Mr. Siddanagouda was brought in a procession by his followers.
