Vidhana Soudha, which is the beehive of hectic activity on an average working day, wore a deserted look on Monday.

While Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar was away with the all-party delegation to New Delhi to meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to appeal against notification of Cauvery Water Disputes Tribunal (CWDT) final award, several ministers were away in their constituencies preparing for urban local body elections on March 7. The attendance of officers was also thin.

There were very few government vehicles and that of the visitors as well. The police personnel who guard the Vidhana Soudha and Vikasa Soudha looked relaxed in view of the thin attendance.

With the two Houses of State legislature adjourned sine die, not many legislators could be seen in the corridors of power, as they were also busy helping their parties in selecting candidates for the municipal bodies.
