The State Cabinet on Monday cleared a Prospective Action Plan for Iron Ore Mining 2030-31 for conducting exploration of iron ore in three districts of Ballari, Tumakuru and Chitradurga.

Mineral Exploration Corporation Ltd. (MECL), a Union government enterprise, would conduct exploration on the availability of iron ore in the three districts, Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister T.B. Jayachandra told presspersons after the Cabinet meeting.

The Cabinet has given administrative approval for establishment of four modern abattoirs at a total cost of ₹29 crore. The Bengaluru division unit would come up in Mulbagal taluk of Kolar district. It also approved a foot-and-mouth disease vaccine production unit on 115 acres in Yelahanka with an estimated cost of ₹100 crore.

The Cabinet approved supply of water from Kadaba tank to the proposed helicopter plant of HAL at Bidarahallikaval village in Tumakuru district. It has decided to give 150 acres in Ramadurga in Sandur taluk of Ballari district to VISL-SAIL, a public sector company, for mining activities.
