Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Tuesday informed the Legislative Assembly that the government will take action on allotment of ‘G’ category sites in Bangalore based on the recommendations of a committee headed by Justice B. Padmaraj.
In reply to M.P. Appachuranjan of the Bharatiya Janata Party during Question Hour, Mr. Siddaramaiah said the committee is expected to submit the report to the government by August 26. Justice H. Rangavitalachar and the former Chief Secretary P.B. Mahishi are the other members of the committee.
As many as 1,620 ‘G’ sites of various measurements were allotted to MLCs, MLAs, MPs, and professionals since 1985. The panel was constituted on the directions of the Karnataka High Court. No ‘G’ category site were allotted after the formation of the panel. “Action will be taken on receipt of report from the committee,” Mr. Siddaramaiah said.
Former Minister Appachuranjan alleged that some MLAs and MLCs have been allotted 2 to 3 housing sites in the city and demanded action against those who received more than one site.

In reply to Shivalinge Gowda K.M. (JD-S), Mr. Siddaramaiah said 2,068.98 acres of land had been allotted to 160 units who have signed MoUs at the Global Investors’ Meets held in 2010 and 2012. A total of 1,274.52 acres were allotted to 131 units in 2010 and 794.45 acres for 29 units in 2012. Of the 131 units, 22 have been implemented. Of the 29 in 2012, nine have implemented their projects, Mr. Siddaramaiah said.
Animal Husbandry
Minister for Animal Husbandry T.B. Jayachandra told Patil A.S. (Congress) that the department would be reorganised to ensure availability of veterinary doctors in all taluk veterinary hospitals. Though 715 veterinary doctors’ posts are vacant, only 215 candidates have applied. The re-organisation would be completed by July 30, he said. Forty-six veterinary doctors have been deputed to the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department, and Mr. Patil said steps would be taken to post doctors in all taluk hospitals.
