The bickering between University of Mysore’s acting Vice-Chancellor Dayanand Mane and Registrar R. Rajanna continued on Wednesday with Mr. Mane serving a notice to Mr. Rajanna for going to the media without obtaining necessary permission.

Mr. Mane told The Hindu that Mr. Rajanna should have obtained prior permission from either him or the government before going to the media.

He added that he was consulting legal experts to file a defamation case against Mr. Rajanna for tarnishing his image.

The acting V-C has also written to the Governor to remove Mr. Rajanna from the post of Registrar.

It may be mentioned here that Mr. Rajanna had told reporters that he had brought to the notice of the government, through a letter written to the Minister for Higher Education Basavaraja Rayaraddi, the complaints against Mr. Mane’s “frequent visits” to the women’s hostel.
