ACB traps PU Board Dy. Director

July 04, 2017 12:42 am | Updated 12:42 am IST - MYSURU

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Monday trapped Deputy Director of Pre-University Board Jayaprakash red-handed while he was allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹25,000 for reportedly renewing recognition of Vijaya Chethana Pre-University College in Kuvempunagar in Mysuru. Mr. Jayaprakash is due to retire this month-end. He had allegedly demanded ₹2.5 lakh for the renewal. After Shakuntala, the college’s AO, lodged a complaint with the ACB, a trap was laid and he was caught receiving the bribe from the complainant.

The Dy. Director and his driver have been arrested under the provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
