ABVP takes out protest march

Members of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) took out a protest march here on Thursday, urging the government to cancel the recognition of 11 private colleges that were raided by CID investigators on charges of being involved in the PU question paper leakage.

Students condemned the ‘education mafia’ run by private colleges that charge exorbitant fees and circumvent the examination process by resorting to “cheap tricks” such as leaking of question papers. “In Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, corporate PU colleges have distorted the education system. We should prevent such things in Karnataka,” they said.

Revanasiddha Jadar, Aravind Sundal and others led the protest.
