Technical snag hits powerproduction in RTPS unit

January 03, 2017 12:41 am | Updated February 03, 2018 01:34 pm IST - RAICHUR:

Power production was affected in the Raichur Thermal Power Station after its unit number five developed a technical snag on Monday.

RTPS officials stopped power production when the boiler of the fifth unit was found leaking.

This is the second such incident where a power production unit was brought to a halt due to technical reasons. RTPS unit number two stopped production on Saturday after technical problems came to light, the officials said.

The RTPS has six units and produces 1,000 megawatt power every day. But after this incident, there would be a fall in production, the officials added.
