Tanks to be filled withwater from TLBC

To meet drinking water crisis during summer, action will be taken to fill tanks in Manvi, Deodurg, Sindhanur and Raichur taluks of Raichur district with water from the Tungabhadra Left Branch Canal in the second phase.

Attending a meeting of officials in Raichur on Wednesday, Bagadi Goutam, Deputy Commissioner, said that the district administration is aiming to fill tanks from the canal water to meet the likely drinking water crisis. The first phase of the project would start on January 13 and the second phase will be launched at a later stage, he added.

He said that the Ganekal reservoir would also be filled by the canal water to ensure drinking water supply to the dependent villages and parts of Raichur city effectively. Therefore, the officials concerned should work hard to ensure effective completion of the project, Dr. Bagadi said. M. Kurmarao, Chief Executive Officer of the Zilla Panchayat, and officials were present.
